Timberlane Student is Broadcom Masters Semifinalist
Top wiinners in the Junior Division of the Mercer Science and Engineering Fair get to participate in the Broadcom Masters' compeition. There are 300 semifinalists chosen from the thousands of similar winners from around the globe.
This year, Sonja Michaluk, a 7th grader from Timberlane Middle School in Pennington, New Jersey, is a semifinalist from the Mercer Science and Engineering Fair. Her project was entitled Stream Health Variation Within a Delimited Geography: Comparison within Stony Brook and among Local Streams.
The top 30 finalists from the 300 semifinalists receive and all expense paid trip to Silicon Valley in California for the next stage of the competition. This occurs in October 1 to 7, 2015. Finalists will present their research and compete in hands-on challenges for top prizes, including funds to attend a STEM summer camp, iPads, and the Samueli Prize of $25,000.
