This is a quick overview of how to do a science fair project for a competition like the Mercer Science and Engineering Fair. In fact, since you are reading this on our website you are likely interested in participating in the fair. Hopefully this article will give you a good idea of what is involved. The Mercer Science and Engineering Fair uses this site for online registration. You need to be registered to participate in the fair. Check the links below and to the left for more details. You should read this before you start your project.

Who can enter the Mercer Science and Engineering Fair?

Students in grades 4-12 that attend school or are home schooled in Mercer County, NJ can participate in the annual Mercer Science and Engineering Fair (MSEF).

Students in grades 4 and 5 compete in the Elementary Division. Students in grades 6-8 compete in the Junior Division and students in grades 9-12 compete in the Senior Division.

Students in the Senior can compete in only one ISEF affiliated fair in the same academic year. They can compete in MSEF and any non-ISEF affiliated fairs in the same academic year.
