Registration Handbook

This handbook covers the registration process for our fair.

This handbook is a work in progress. Please send any questions, comments, etc. to the webmaster.

Getting Started

To compete in the fair you must be registered. This involves setting up an account, submitting an online application and having the application accepted. Applications are reviewed by the Safety Review Committee (SRC). All applications are reviewed after they have been submitted. Projects may optionally be precertified by the Safety Review Committee (SRC) PRIOR to the start of a project. Most projects do not require precertification.

These are the basic steps in registering:

  • Sign up for an account
  • Create an application and choose category from the Submissions tab
  • In draft mode, save changes by clicking the Save button
    • Fill in the application
    • Upload required ISEF forms
    • Optional precertification request
  • Submit the application by clicking the Submit button
  • Application reviewed by SRC

An application can be started any time before judging begins. Dates are posted on the home page of this website.

A submission will be in draft mode and cannot be submitted until all required fields are completed. Do not click the Submit button until AFTER the project is completed and all information has been uploaded. No changes can be made to the submission once the Submit button is clicked.

Private contact information will not be shared with the judges. Contact information will be shared with organizations that provide any awards that may be given. Details including name, grade, and school will be included with public award announcements.

You must be logged into your account access the registration system. There will be a Submissions tab on your home page when you log in. This will list the available events and any submissions that you have created. In general, you should have only one submission.

Teachers and mentors that manage multiple students may have multiple submissions if they are managing those submissions directly. See the Teachers Handbook for more details.
